Prolight HexPlorer

January 21, 2016 By LEDEngineer

This board is an example of what Embedded EE can offer customers interested in experimenting with highly saturated color or variable spectrum white lighting.  This is made possible through a 6 die LED having red, green, blue, white, amber, and cyan emitters.  Highly saturated colors are generated by one or combining two of the color emitters.  Whites can be generated that emphasize a particular color by using the white die in combination with the color dies.  Control is achieved with DMX over EIA-485.

Main features are:

    • 6 channels of independent DC LED drive
    • 2 Watts of LED power when all die are used
    • Luminous output maximized in LED utilization algorithm
    • Standard 3 channel RGB control via DMX
    • Small size of 2 x 1.2 inches
    • Boards can be daisy chained through in and out connectors
  • LED side of the board is free of other components for mounting against a heat sink
  • Powered by 5 volts

This assembly is intended to help you generate proof of concept lighting prototypes.  This assembly can be provided with firmware that meets your specific application requirements.  You can watch a video of the HexPlorer in action. Contact me to learn more.
